Max McGee became a legend after he scored the first TD in Super Bowl history, in 1967.

McGee who was 75 years old was living in suburban Deephaven, and on Saturday afternoon he started clearing leaves from the roof of his home when a tragic accident put an end to his life as he felt from the roof.

In 1967 in the first Super Bowl, a game McGee expected to watch from the sideline, ended with the victory of the Green Bay over the Chiefs, 35-10. He violated the team curfew and spent the night before the game, partying and this incident made him not planing to play in the title game against Kansas City.
When he retired from football, he became a business partner in developing a popular Mexican restaurant. After that, along side Jim Irwin, from ‘79 to ‘98 he was an broadcaster for the Packer Radio.
In 1999 Max and his wife Denise founded the Max McGee National Research Center for Juvenile Diabetes at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. The main reason for this Research Center was his brother who fought diabetes in his lifetime, and Max and Denise’s youngest son, Dallas, lives with the disease.
Max McGee left behind him four children and several grandchildren.
