After being injured on Sunday’s game against the Packers, RB Larry Johnson could be out for the season, as it appears that the two-time ProBowler has a broken foot.

A television report written on Denver’s Fox 31 web site, speaks about the recent foot injury suffered by Chiefs’s star running back, that would definetly sideline him for next week game against Broncos, but could also end his season. The Chiefs initially said that the injury is just a mid-foot sprain, coach Herm Edwards saying that Larry’s return on sunday is highly questionable. “He’s got a swollen foot right now so that’s not good,”

Johnson’s foot got caught under the weight of A.J. Hawk and twisted awkwardly as the Green Bay Packers linebacker dragged him down from behind in the fourth quarter of the 33-22 Packers victory on Sunday. Larry left the field escorted by Chiefs’s medical staff, and was replaced by RB Priest Holmes. Coach Edwards says he’s still expecting more MRIs and second opinions from doctors to make a decision regarding who will replace Johnson on sunday, when Chiefs meet division rivals Denver Broncos.

One man that could replace Johnson is RB Priest Holmes, one of the NFL best running backs, who’s return to the game was a surprise, after he suffered an injury in 2005, that sidelined him until this season. Holmes, now 34 has touched the ball only a few times in the two games he’s played, and his backup is rookie Kolby Smith, a fifth-round draft choice out of Louisville, to whom he will share the carries.
