The Jags won the last three games against the Steelers and also lead the overall series 11-8.
Both teams last meet in Week 15, when the Jaguars beat the Steelers at home 29-22. Ben Roethlisberger and his crew never got in a rhythm offensively, as the Jaguars held the ball almost 15 minutes longer than Pittsburgh. Also, Jacksonville RB Fred Taylor rushed for 147 yards on a Steelers defense that had only allowed two 100-yard rushers in 63 games.
The Steelers got here after they started out by winning their first 4 games and ended the season by losing 3 of their last 4. This season highlight was when Rothlisberger’s five-touchdown effort in the first half against Baltimore in Week 9, the same week Pro Bowl LB James Harrison collected 9 tackles, 3½ sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception. Great game for James Harrison! The low point was the loss of league rushing leader Willie Parker.
The Jaguars reached a four-game winning streak until Week 6, when they met the defending world champion Colts. Indianapolis swept their wins, but the Jaguars maintained a secure road and they only lost three more times in the season. QB David Garrard had a largely mistake-free season, throwing only 3 interceptions, while his backfield team mates, Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew rushed for nearly 2,000 yards. The 3 diamonds in this team, lead the Jags to AFC Wild-Card.
Our prediction is the Jaguars beat the Steelers by more than 3 point.
